With the genuine article now available for download, this version of the track will hopefully stave the avalanche of D-Punk knock-offs for a little while. The debate is somewhat moot, however, since the official single offers a cleaner and obviously more complete production with all of the verses intact. That was closely followed by a Radio Edit which now seems to have been a genuine “leak” of the song in all aspects except sonic quality–though it’s impossible for our in-house Daft P forensic nerdsquad to compare them bar by bar, since the Turkish soundcloud page (!) which hosted the track is now down. The preview of the track also aired with a video teaser that was undoubtedly tapped to fill space. Just recap the first “leak” was clearly a loop constructed from a series of 15-second snippets that played during a recent Saturday Night Live broadcast. The genuine article comes after a super fake-out of a leak flooded the internet. ![]() UPDATE 2 (The Electric Boogaloo): Daft Punk drops the official version of their heavily bootlegged hard-driving dance track “Get Lucky” – the lead single from their forthcoming LP Random Access Memories featuring Pharrell and Nile Rodgers.
